True personal training is an individualized and guided exercise service that recognizes that you are unique and therefore the exercises you perform, the programmes you follow and the level of challenge you experience should all be tailored specifically for you and your goals.


What I Offer

Exceptional one to one* personal training and exercise therapy which can be delivered in your home, the outdoors or at the gym. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced fitness enthusiast, your sessions will be specifically designed to increase your confidence along with your fitness.

Your progressive programmes will be based on your current ability, lifestyle, available time and equally importantly, what you enjoy. Because if you enjoy your exercise you’ll want to do it, rather than just feel like you should. And when you see and feel the results you’ll want to do it even more and before long a habit will be born…..a good habit, and that makes your success inevitable! 


The Service You Will Get

Complementary Consultation

The service begins with a consultation during which information is gathered about your goals, current state of health, exercise history and your lifestyle, including dietary habits and daily stresses.  From this information I’ll help you clearly define realistic and achievable goals as well as helping you to identify your main barriers to succeeding and suggesting realistic strategies to overcome these barriers. The consultation is free and there is no obligation for you to engage my services.


Comprehensive Health & Fitness Assessment

When you engage my services you will undergo a comprehensive Health and Fitness assessment as part of your first session, which is extended so you'll still be doing plenty of exercise! This will be used to determine your current cardiovascular and respiratory health, body composition, posture & symmetry, mobility & balance, flexibility, aerobic fitness and general strength levels. The assessments are carefully designed to help formulate a programme that is tailor made for your needs and will also give you a clear record against which you can compare your progress. The fitness part of the assessment isn’t compulsory if you have been exercising regularly for more than 6 months but the feedback it gives, makes it really worthwhile regardless of your experience.


Appropriate Programme Design & Progression

During your time with me your programme will be regularly assessed and revised, based on the feedback you give and also to match your improving level of ability. As you progress towards your goals there are always new and exciting methods of training you can advance to, so you will be consistently experiencing sessions that are both highly effective and enjoyable, keeping your motivation sky high.

 

Quality Equipment & Effective Methods

I have a large range of top quality equipment such as London kettlebells, powerbags, dumbbells, medicine balls and stability balls from which we can create an almost limitless variety of programmes to meet your your needs, and of course we won't neglect to use good old fashioned bodyweight either, which ensures your programme will be very practical and functional.

You will perform exercises that replicate natural human movement patterns, such as to bend, squat, lunge, run, jump, push, pull, throw and twist.   By challenging the body using multi-joint, compound exercises that involve several muscles at once you will not only train more efficiently, the results will also have a much greater functional carry over into the rest of your life. As you progress the exercises will become more dynamic, bringing greater challenges, rewards and also more fun.

But we won't just focus on cardiovascular fitness and getting the showy muscles in shape, as a level 3 pilates instructor and exercise therapist I'll make sure we'll also get your core strong and lean and target any weaknesses or postural issues you might have, so you'll be fit & healthy on the inside too.  


Follow Up Assessments

For those of you who purchase the 12 sessions package or 3 month term agreement, your final session will be extended free of charge during which time you will receive a follow up health and fitness assessment so that you may see just how far you’ve progressed. If you take up the 6 month term agreement you are entitled to a full follow up assessment every 3 months.
